Skype CEO John Silverman will be lobbying in DC Monday to defend Skype's right to be used over 3G networks and not just over wifi on phones.

If it is allowed to work over the 3G network, then Skype starts to challenge the voice services of the cellular providers, something that isnt likely to be viewed favorably by Ma Bell and its cohorts.

We all know Microsoft is working on the successor to OneCare -- Security Essentials is currently in beta testing and should be ready for public consumption any time now.

It's a decent protection package, and should help protect users from things like nefarious fake antivirus apps and other "scareware."

What's new in Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha 6? Well... first of all, there is no more Usplash.

Secondly, the Ubuntu Software Store application is now present and it is available under the System menu. Other than that, the GNOME desktop environment has been updated to version 2.28 RC1 (2.27.92), the Linux kernel packages are now at version 2.6.31-10.34.
